Prof. Dr. Güleser Saylam is a professor of ENT and head and neck surgery and has practised in this field since 2002. She graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1998, started ENT residency there the same year, and completed specialization in 2002. She later worked for many years at Ankara Numune and Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Training and Research Hospitals, became associate professor in 2010 and professor in 2017, spent about 17 years at Dışkapı, and in 2022–2023 served at Etlik City Hospital.
A central part of her work is head and neck cancers and thyroid surgery. In 2010 she was a visiting scientist at the Head and Neck Surgery Clinic of MD Anderson Cancer Center in the United States; in 2013 she trained in transoral laser and robotic surgery at the University of Marburg in Germany; and in 2023 she qualified as a Da Vinci robotic surgery console surgeon. She has authored more than 200 national and international publications and has served on boards and qualification committees of the Turkish Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery. Since November 2023 she has seen patients at Lokman Hekim University Akay Hospital, with a focus on head and neck cancers, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, airway surgery, and pediatric neck masses.
